Description

“Put the paddle to the metal”! Probably the most exciting and spectacular race of the ADRIA SUP CHALLENGE. Experience the powerful starts, exciting battles for positions at the buoy turns and breathtaking finish sprints not just for racers, but also for spectators. This is the race where tactics, skills and technique in unpredictable sea conditions forge the winners’ medals.

Race track

The start and the finish of the technical race is placed in the hearth of the beautiful new City beach of Koper. The Technical Race will follow the “Heat System” with the first heat consisting of a qualification round/heat,  quarter finals, semi finals and subsequent finals, qualification rounds 1 x 500 m (one lap), finals 2 x 500 m (two laps). Check the start and finish line on a map. The course can be adjusted at short notice due to wind and weather conditions.

Girls U18 | Boys U18 – up to 18 years old

Ladies OPEN | Men OPEN – up to 39 years old

Ladies 40+ | Men 40+ – 40 years old up to 49 years old

Ladies 50+ | Men 50+ – 50 years old and above

If less than 5 competitors are registered in a category, these competitors are moved to the OPEN category

Race distance

First Heat and subsequent heats (quarter finals, semi finals) : approx. 1 x 500 m (one lap)
Finals: approx. 2 x 500 m (two laps)

Equipment

All board types up to 14’, paddle, safety-leash, personal floating device PFD if needed.
